“Tea” is not a beverage, it’s an emotion. Tea lovers would agree to this whole heartedly. It’s something that can be had at any time of the day. Chai biscuit, Chai Pakoras are the universal favorites. It’s hard to resist tea when the aroma of fresh spices is wafting and teasing your senses.
Now I am not generally a tea person, while I love the green tea variants but the normal tea I love only to have an occasional sip depending on my mood and weather. 🙂 But I do like trying different flavors in tea. When Tearaja approached me with tea samples in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, I was expecting green tea variants that are the trend today, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got to see such varied range of aromatic black tea. 🙂 I never knew tea can have such variety and range. The usual variants I have heard or tried are the ginger, masala, and cardamom ones.
I tried the Fennel Spice Chai. I love fennels. It is a versatile spice that can be used raw or roasted. It can be used in a recipe or even as mouth freshner. It adds its own distinct taste to the food when added as a spice or leaves a fresh breath in the mouth when used as a mouth freshener
So when I saw the Fennel Spiced Chai,I was intrigued as the idea of adding fennel seeds to tea had never occurred to me. In my mind I already had an idea about how the tea should taste based on my previous experiences with fennel as a spice.
I must admit the tea surprised me with its freshness and distinctive taste. It was nothing like what I had envisioned; it exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. The fennel blended with cardamoms and it took the taste of the tea to another level. It catered to my sense of smell and taste and that brought in a lot of emotions. It made me appreciate the emotions that a tea aficionado experiences. It was for me near close to nirvana.
My definition of relaxation now includes a cup of tea, some biscuits, a nice good book and of course some pouring rains…. Ah!! Bliss!!!
Can be served without milk too. Black tea as they call it. The golden brown tea leaves a very strong note on the taste buds wanting for more..
Tearaja has earned a new convert with me, and I am sure those who try it will enjoy the experience. There are a 8 varieties that they offer and I am sure each of them is going to be an experience in itself if the Fennel Spice Chai is any indication. I will be posting my reviews of the other variants as and when I try them.
The other varieties include:
- Green Citrus Zest
- Chamomile Mint Soothing Tea
- Magical Ayurvedic Herbal Tea
- Indian Wonder Bliss
- Summer Soothing Mint Tea
- Hibiscus Rose Refresher
- Kashmiri Kahwa Tea
I would definitely recommend Tearaja to anybody who wants to experience tea in a new fresh way and I am sure that you will enjoy the experience. The company is based out in the land of sweets Kolkata, they really make tea drinking a soul touching experience. The ingredients in the package were fresh and the aroma of the tea when unzipped was refreshing. There is no artificial flavoring or preservative used so that is another point in their favor.
PS : Although I got the products for review, the opinions shared here are mine. This is not a paid post.
