Onion Tomato Chutney

A very Happy Women’s day to all the wonderful ladies out there . Hats off to all of us for donning many hats and being able to smile even in most difficult times.

We deserve all the attention n praise coming our,way. Today, I’m sharing a very easy recipe which takes minimum time in kitchen but tastes yummy. Like life, sweet, tangy, spicy n tasty. It bursts with flavors.

An amazing side dish for chapatis/ rotis. I have always been a fan of this curry. Just wrap it in a roti and you are good to go J doesn’t need much preparation and can be made very quickly in as good as 20 minutes flat. πŸ˜›

Can be sandwiched into bread and grill with some cheese and it makes a healthy snack too. πŸ™‚

Serves: 3-4

Β Ingredients:

Onions: 2-3 finely chopped

Tomatoes: 3-4 finely chopped.

Red chili powder: 2-3 tsp (Add more for spicier version)

Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp.

Sugar: a pinch

Salt to taste

To temper:

Mustard seeds: 1 tsp

Curry leaves:Β  a spring.

Oil: 2 tbsp

Β Method:

1.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, let them crackle.

2.Add the curry leaves,onions and saute till golden brown.

3.Add chili powder, turmeric powder and give it a good stir.

4.Add the tomatoes and cook till oil starts leaving the pan.

5.Add salt and sprinkle sugar and cook till they become a thick gravy.

Serve hot with chapatis/ breads.
